The WGP (Whole Genome Parameter) is a computationally effective method for rapid bacterial species delineation suitable to run on a standard desktop computer. The method is based on comparison of four statistical parameters calculated for each genome, see: Maderankova, D. et al. “Rapid bacterial species delineation based on parameters derived from genome numerical representations”. To this date, the method is implemented only as Matlab codes (Bioinformatics Toolbox is required). Check for further releases as open source codes and graphical user interface.
